Trump shares renderings of a towering presidential library

On Monday, President Donald Trump unveiled renderings of his envisioned presidential library, providing a glimpse into how the proposed Florida-based center might honor his legacy. The video, posted on Truth Social, depicts a striking skyscraper that dominates the Miami skyline, with the Trump name boldly displayed near the summit of the structure. The design includes a golden archway adorned with the presidential emblem, serving as the main entrance for visitors.

Interior Concepts and Symbolic Details

The imagined interior showcases exhibits that replicate White House interiors, featuring iconic elements from Trump’s political career. Among the displays are a collection of aircraft, including a reimagined Air Force One, and scenes reminiscent of the “Presidential Walk of Fame” on the West Colonnade. A massive auditorium is shown with a towering golden statue of the president, echoing his reaction to the July 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“This concept could be office, but it’s most likely gonna be a hotel with a beautiful building underneath, a 747 Air Force One in the lobby, which is going to be a trick,” Trump said during an executive order signing ceremony at the White House.

Architectural Firm and Design Inspiration

The renderings were crafted by Miami-based architecture firm Bermello Ajamil, which recreated Trump’s gilded Oval Office and the Rose Garden. The video also highlights a planned immense ballroom, intended to replace the East Wing. While the designs appear AI-generated, their finality remains uncertain. CNN has sought clarification from the White House and the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation.

Site Selection and Legal Context

Eric Trump, the president’s son and head of the library’s foundation, praised the renderings on X, calling it a “landmark on the water in Miami, Florida.” The site, chosen as Miami Dade College, spans 2.63 acres and is adjacent to the Miami Freedom Tower, a historical Cuban processing center from the 1960s. The land was formally transferred to the foundation via a Cabinet vote in 2025, following a temporary legal halt due to an activist’s lawsuit over open government law violations.

Residency and Future Ambitions

Trump, a native New Yorker, legally established residency in Florida in 2019, moving his permanent address to the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. The foundation emphasized that the library will stand as “a living testament to the indelible impact President Trump has made on America and its people,” according to a White House spokesperson, Davis Ingle. The project also includes plans for a luxury Qatari jet to be converted into Air Force One, which will eventually be housed in the library.
