Several Men Rape Woman Near Church in Surrey Incident

Surrey police report that a woman in her early 20s was raped by multiple men outside a church following her departure from a local nightclub. The attack happened between 2:00 and 4:00 BST on Saturday, after she left the Labyrinth Epsom venue.

Authorities believe the assault took place near the Epsom Methodist Church located on Ashley Road. The victim claims she was trailed and became a target of sexual violence during this time. Det Insp Aine Matthews emphasized that the incident is deeply upsetting, noting the victim is receiving assistance from specialized units.

“Our investigation is still in its initial phase. The force is accelerating efforts to build a clearer understanding of the suspects, with updates expected once more information is available,” Matthews said.

Officers have not yet obtained complete details of the perpetrators but are actively pursuing leads to pinpoint their identities and whereabouts. Investigators are seeking witnesses who were present in the vicinity between 2:00 and 4:00 BST on Saturday, particularly those who might have observed or interacted with a woman in her 20s showing signs of distress.
