46th Razzie Awards: A Night of Humorous Criticism

The 46th Razzie Awards have unveiled their winners, with a single movie claiming multiple dubious accolades. “War of the Worlds” (2025) dominated the evening, securing titles in Worst Picture, Worst Remake/rip-off sequel, Worst Screenplay, Worst Director, and Worst Actor, awarded to Ice Cube.

Though it shares its title with the 2005 film starring Tom Cruise, this year’s adaptation of H. G. Wells’ 1898 novel “The War of the Worlds” earned six nominations, missing out on the Worst Screen Combo category, which went to the seven CGI dwarfs from last year’s Disney live-action reimagining of “Snow White.” The artificial septet also claimed the Worst Supporting Actor prize.

“The Golden Raspberry Awards, known as the Razzies, humorously critique cinema by honoring films that fall short of excellence.”

In line with tradition, the Razzie winners are revealed the day prior to the Academy Awards ceremony. This season’s Razzie Redeemer Award went to Kate Hudson for her role in “Song Sung Blue,” following her previous 2021 nomination for Worst Actress in “Music.”
